Young Hailey Dean became a lawyer and then prosecuting attorney after her fiancé Will was brutally murdered just days before they were to be married. She fought her grief the only way she knew; and that was to put away killers or even get the death penalty for their heinous crimes. This story begins with Hailey prosecuting a serial killer. She is brilliant and her conviction results in a death penalty verdict. The man had wickedly strangled and then stabbed to death 10 women, all young prostitutes.
Actually there were eleven murder victims and Hailey convicted the killer of all eleven. But the eleventh was a copycat murder and no one knew it. Following this draining trial Hailey resigned as prosecutor in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to New York where she started a whole new career and life as a practicing psychologist.
But that life began to crumble when there were two murders in New York of young women using the same MO. The two were patients of Hailey’s in her psychology practice and since the public was never made aware of the methods of the murderer Hailey was the prime suspect. She managed to alibi her way out of jail to become stalked by the killer.
In the final exciting scene Hailey manages to turn the tables on her would-be killer but it is a close thing. “The Eleventh Victim” is a thrilling mystery that rates a 7 of 10 on the Weaver meter.
