Is reincarnation possible? Do you think that a murderer of three beautiful young blond women of a hundred years ago might come back and murder three more beautiful young blond women today? And do you think this murderer might bury each of the bodies in exactly the same undiscovered spot that was used 100 years ago?
Emily Graham is a talented defense attorney in New York City. Having sold a bunch of dot com stock and fortunately made $10 million, Emily returned to Spring Lake, New Jersey to purchase the house that her family had owned 100 years ago. After a party in this house a young lady of her family had gone missing. Only after Emily had moved into the home where excavation was being done to install an underground swimming pool was Madeline’s body discovered. But there were two bodies in the grave. The one on top was a young woman who had gone missing four years ago. She was strangled but the queer thing is that she had the finger bone of the much older body that was beneath her in her skeleton hand. The killer obviously was sending a message that the two deaths are connected.
Over a period of a few weeks the revealed by post card slipped under Emily’s door where the next set of two bodies, one from 100 years ago and one current missing woman, had been buried. When the killer then sent another card announcing the location of a third set of bodies Emily really became scared.
Even though she had taken precautions of having an alarm system put in and extensive video cameras, the killer managed to get into the house and almost succeeded in killing her. Emily was to have joined the third victim from 100 years ago to rest in the same grave in the woods. But at the last minute the police and a friend of Emily’s managed to break in and kill the man before he could do Emily in.
I won’t reveal who the killer turns out to be. That would spoil the story for you. Suffice to say you will be surprised as I was. I give “On the Street Where You Live” an 8 of 10 on the Weaver meter.
